SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) -- A Louisiana sheriff says four people have been arrested in connection with an investigation into dozens of assault rifles that were stolen while being transported to a gun distributor.
Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator says Con-way Freight contacted his office Oct. 15 about a pallet containing 63 Colt AR-15s missing from its terminal. Prator says none of the guns have been recovered.
The sheriff's office says the guns are valued at $800 each.
Parish and federal authorities have booked 21-year-old Cameron Johnson, of Keithville; 22-year-old Luther M. Williams Jr., of Shreveport; 44-year-old James D. Minor Jr., of Keithville; and 31-year-old David McNeil, of Keithville.
It was unclear whether the men have attorneys.
